    Happy Equinox!

Every day can be Day 1, right?

I have a long history of chronic pain in many locations in my body. In fact, it's probably hard for me to find a part of my body that has not had a pain issue at one time or another. I've tried a long list of therapies, with little or no success. A tale told many times.

A few years ago I tried a local pain specialist that everyone raved about. After exams and imaging, he recommended steroid shots and a powerful anti-inflammatory. I was not encouraged but I gave it a try. The anti-inflammatory was interesting. Within 24 hours I felt like a new man. All my pain was gone, and my energy felt freed up. 20 years younger. No, wait, 30 years younger.

And the following day it was gone. This was both very discouraging and very interesting. This had to be placebo, right? But, wow, did it feel fantastic. I can still remember vividly how I felt. This gave me a sense that if this was possible for a day, I just needed to figure out how to harness it and make it last.

Reframed from Dr. Sarno's theories, my unconscious mind let go of creating pain for that one day, but decided that it was not safe for me to be 30 years younger, for whatever reason, and went back to creating the distractions so vital for my safety.

Thanks, everyone, for this six week course and these sources to help me with my journey
