This is an excellent 12 minute video by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn on mindfulness. It’s about breathing and meditation:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?...50oj45s

He is a professor of medicine emeritus and creator of the Stress Reduction Clinic and the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care, and Society at the University of Massachusetts medical School.

The video shows him hosting a session with several dozen people that shows how to achieve mindfulness (living in the present moment) through breathing. He reminds us that breathing is automatic, from the subconscious mind, and a key element in mindfulness meditation.

Mindfulness, achieved by meditation and breathing, helps to take our mind off worries, anxieties, and stresses.

He and his students close their eyes and breathe in and out, not even doing deep breathing, just relaxing breathing. But we are to be aware of the breathing, feel each breath. It brings a profound calming effect.

Our minds will wander off of the breathing and onto many things that may be stressful. We need to bring our mind back onto our breathing so we are back in the moment. It’s normal for the mind to wander, but bringing our mind back onto breathing helps the awareness process. He admits it may not be easy, and can be very challenging, but we need to practice it, and his session runs 12 minutes.

I practice it often during the day and achieve calmness, as does another friend of the TMSWiki.org forums, Herbie.

Kabat-Zinn has several other free videos on YouTube including one called
"The Healing Power of Mindfulness" that is nearly two hours long. It is at:

I think Jon's meditations are very accessible to everyone, very simple. If you check him out on amazon or something you will see he has done a number of different meditations varying in duration and application. I have been using his techniques for a couple of years now and find them very helpful
