    Hi All,
I wanted to post this with an invitation to send to others who might benefit from a quick introduction to the "TMS" work of this Forum. The guests on the video don't use the phrase TMS, but they're talking about the same thing with different names. We're trying to get the word out. Good booster for any doubts creeping in for we veterans too!

    Andy-

Ppdassociation sent this to me the other day... it's a good video. I'm going to cancel a follow up appointment with a gastroenterologist who I saw in October and am very tempted to send him the link.

I also received the email from the PPDA, I just watched it and it is a good video and, very importantly, it's only 7 minutes long (FYI, I often include the length of an audio or video recommendation because I myself am reluctant to start watching or listening if I don't know what I'm getting into).

The higher goal of the Psycho-Physiologic Disorders Association (PPDA), in addition to educating patients, is to educate and spread the word amongst all professionals and practitioners in medicine, psychotherapy, and physiotherapy - the founding members are a long list of TMS /PPD luminaries.

I guess that the PPDA is now trying to shift to this new organization they're calling Symptomatic?

Thanks Jan- that's the nudge I needed. I'll send the link in my comment on why I'm canceling the appointment and also send the doctor an email with it. When he said in an email that stress doesn't not cause gastritis I was so happy - it made me wake up and realize it's TMS!!!

Yes, I believe it's all the same, just a new name. Same conference etc.

    Hi Jan and All,
Re Name change, cut and pasted from email.

    Our New Name:

    • We’re replacing the Psychophysiologic Disorders Association (PPDA) with the Association for Treatment of Neuroplastic Symptoms (ATNS).

    New Term: Symptomatic

    • We’re introducing “Symptomatic” as our brand’s key term—making our core messaging easy to comprehend and find on the internet.

    • The new logo, featuring a brain and a lightbulb, represents the “aha” moment when a patient’s new knowledge becomes a source of healing.

    Why the Shift?

    • "Neuro" (nerve and brain) and "plastic" (capacity for change) Symptoms (NS) better emphasize the brain’s capacity to adapt and heal, communicating hope to those suffering from the beginning of their journey.

    • Our official name, the Association for Treatment of Neuroplastic Symptoms, is a bit technical for the public. That’s why we are introducing Symptomatic as the brand name for our website, social media, and other public channels.
    What Else to Expect:
    New Membership Benefits:

    • To continue educating the public and practitioners, we plan to add a new self-treatment course, a podcast, and more in 2025!
    Not Already a Member?

    Our Mission Remains the Same:

    • Share the latest scientific evidence about successful diagnosis and treatment of Neuroplastic Symptoms. Millions are affected, but by sharing the power of Pain Relief Psychology, we empower patients and practitioners with knowledge that becomes healing.
