Michelle Gottlieb is a therapist practicing in the Fullerton, CA area. She has been there since 1991 and practiced therapy for over 20 years. Gottlieb received a Masters of Counseling from Arizona State University in 1988. Currently she teaches classes on counseling at Cal State Fullerton's Counseling Department. Gottlieb also writes a column for the Fullerton Observer and for Commitment Magazine. In her column she responds to questions sent to her by email, however she does change names and specifics to protect confidentiality. She has an extensive collection of her column in an archive dating back to October 2000.

While Gottlieb works with a variety of patients most are suffering from conditions such as depression and anxiety. She also said she works "with people who were raised in families where alcohol, drugs, violence or abuse were part of the experience of growing up. I help these people to do the healing that they need to lead a happy life." Her practice also focuses on patients who have experienced traumas such as domestic violence or crimes. Gottlieb is certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). She is married and has two sons. Gottlieb has contributed to the wiki and posted an article about EMDR on her user page.
