I remember as a child hearing the term "psychosomatic" when my mother was diagnosed with Scleroderma and given 6 months to live. Our house was filled with medical jargon and she was a poster child for TMS characteristics, passing them on to most of her kids, myself included. My nickname by age 3 was "Florence Nightingale" when I officially became the new poster child for TMS traits. I am 16 years cancer free after 3 bouts. I had lumbar surgery in '98, Fibromyalgia branded in '99 and struggling with chronic neck, shoulder, low back and sciatic pain with plantar fascitis thrown in 'bout a year ago. Enough already! I"m well educated in mindbody stuff, believe wholeheartedly in it, but of course when it's your pain, it's "different". Dr. Sarno gives REAL hope for living pain free and I am ready to begin!
