I just received a newsletter from Dr. Howard Schubiner and thought others might be interested in helping contribute towards a crowdfunding effort related to a new mind-body documentary that seems to have some potential for mainstream success.

    From Howard:

    Hi friends,

    Something very exciting is happening!

You may remember that we were working on a very large chronic pain study in Boulder, Colorado this past year. Well, a group of filmmakers were following the study and decided to turn into a full length documentary.

From there, this project has grown into something none of us could have imagined! Freida Pinto (Slumdog Millionaire, Planet of the Apes) got involved and is now executive producing the film. Before long, they were having meetings with CNN and other companies talking about the possibility of distributing the documentary!

We truly believe that this is something that can reach millions of people, they just need a little more help in getting the rest of the way there. They started a crowdfunding campaign and have until the end of the month to raise $50,000. The campaign was just activated and they're already 15% of the way there, so we're off to a good start! They put together an incredible demo reel, you can click the link below to watch:

    Hi Everyone!

I just received an email from a director/ producer of this film, Laurie Polisky and wanted to share the trailer with you. Check it out and, if able, please support this amazing project! They are almost halfway to their goal as of this morning, with 9 days left.

From Laurie Polisky, a director/ producer of Pain Brain:

    “Hi all,

It's been awhile and I wanted to update you. We have completed the Boulder Back Pain study!! And the results ended up being better than we could have imagined in even our most grandiose fantasies! We're not able to share the actual numbers before the study gets published, but they are as Howard says "otherworldly".

scan.jpg The brain scans are still being analyzed and once that's completed, the study will be submitted for publication. We're optimistic that when the study comes out it will make a big splash, and go a long way toward changing the way chronic pain is treated. We could not have done this without you, and are beyond grateful.

On a somewhat related note, you may remember that a group of filmmakers were making a short documentary about the Boulder Back Pain study. Well, this small project has grown into something none of us could have imagined!

Alan Gordon had actually suggested that she reach out to us, and I'm happy that she posted. Here's the link to their site:
