I managed to 'injure' my hand in the height of the pandemic, around August 2020, and spent nearly 2 years slowly getting worse until I could no longer use my arms at all. I was previously an illustrator and loved to write, play games and craft things. The inciting incident was painting a Warhammer figurine, if that gives you an idea of why I put 'injure' in inverted commas above.

I tried voice-typing, stretches, online advice and nothing seemed to work. I've seen 6 doctors, had various painful tests and none of them have any idea what the problem was.
The first doctor I saw told me I'd never draw again and to change my career without even knowing what was wrong with me, and all subsequent doctors have been stumped. I've had to wait multiple months to be seen for 10 minutes only to be told "Sorry, I have no clue why you're in so much pain. There's nothing structurally wrong with you. Take some painkillers."

I came across The Mindbody Prescription in May 2022 and wasn't convinced, but I was so desperate and in so much pain I bought it and tried anyway.

It's now July 2022 and as you can see I've typed all of this without much issue, and have been drawing and playing games again a little at a time. (I didn't go back to collecting Warhammer, it's far too expensive!)

I'm 99.9% convinced I have TMS, and the moment I began to really think about my pain and what was bothering me the pain began to shift to other parts that weren't even a problem, such as my neck, shoulders, back and legs.
That 0.01% is the nagging doubt I always have after the pain rears back up after a good spell, and by joining the forums I'd like to truck through this and make it 100%.

    Thanks for reading.

Hey! Good story. This really illuminates what we were just chatting about on your thread. Yep. You're one of us. I have been pain free 99.9% of the time for 25 years after reading Sarno but I still have to be vigilant or it sneaks in a back door.
Not a bad thing at all...Its improved the quality of my life vastly. And as you already know, lets you do whatever you really want to do.
