Did 15 min. standing; plus chair workout. Haven’t set a timer and stood in awhile. Need to get back to this! I used to be at 23 min. Apr 16, 2025 at 8:55 PM

  • My Story

I have been fighting TMS all my life. In the past, my symptoms would go away over time if I ignored them. After I learned about Dr. Sarno in 2017, I had one book healing, and then my TMS returned with a vengeance. During the pandemic, I became extremely anxious as most people did. I hovered over the news incessantly, which didn’t help me at all. I also had about five or six personal and family issues going on that were extremely difficult for me and an abusive childhood. Thus, my symptoms exploded —and took over pretty much my whole body. I’m not diagnosed, but I have all the symptoms of complex regional pain syndrome. I’ve had so many strange sensations related to anxiety and adrenaline, I can’t even list them all here. But believe me, adrenaline can cause total havoc in your body.

In the past year of being on this forum, I can’t even name all the things I have learned. Incredibly valuable and important things! I wouldn’t want go back to who I was before or the life I had before. And that is saying a lot because I’m still in pain and debilitated. However, I have full confidence that if I don’t give up, I will overcome this TMS.

Cleaned my bathroom today (minus the tub); cooked chili and did the dishes. Almost doubled over in pain. But did it anyway. Happy!

You can talk to your brain and tell it you’re safe. And that’s a good tactic. Or, you can SHOW it you’re safe. That’s better. Do stuff!

Ease up on trying to know all, and to be all, and begin to live for today in great joy. Imprison yourself with hope. @Cactusflower
