I get bored talking about my pain as I feel I'm on the road to recovery. But here it is... 23 years ago when one of my children was a baby I was carrying her in a sling. Plus looking after a toddler and hoovering. Not the best combo. I had intense pain in my neck, at the base in line with my shoulders. Went to the doc then to A&E as I had a swollen hump. Ugh the pain! Xray showed "early wear and tear ". 23 years on.. I've done chiropractors, organic diet, physiotherapy, massage therapy, everything I could find on line to help with the pain, meditation, pain killers, ice packs, warm packs, foam rollers. Recently the pain was just so intense my fear and anxiety was off the richter scale! I just knew I couldn't face another week of pain, let alone 23 years. It was like a red hot piece of barbed wire being drawn on the muscles in my neck. I felt grumpy and hunched against the pain. All I had was a narrowing in my neck surely I shouldn't have so much inflammation? Desperate I went to see the doc two weeks ago and told him I was so anxious and in so much pain that I was desperate for help. He prescribed valium and another xray. I had developed tinnitus to add to my discomfort. The following day I went to the osteopath, well how different her approach was. She said my reaction to the pain was holding back my recovery. She said I'd developed a scaffold of protection around my neck, she also said there was hope. Well if I'd won the lotto I couldn't have been happier. So no more googling operations, no more anxious reading of arthritis of the spine and scoliosis. No more worry. That very evening after the osteopath I happened across dr Sarno and it all made sense, oh and since then I've only taken one valium and two painkillers and that was straight after the doc appointment. Now for the tinnitus! Sorry if this is boring I just want to talk about positive stuff now :)

TMS "knowledge penicillin" is TRANSFORMATIONAL! Thanks for sharing and best luck to your continued healing. Tinnitus is an acknowledged TMS pain impostor too.
