TMS is an important countercultural movement that's vehemently opposed to established health care (globally) and its emphasis on pills and unnecessary surgeries, treatments, etc.

And the movement's main tenet, that all chronic pain or addictions, all repetition compulsions that land one in the same impoverished place over and over, whether of an emotional or physical kind- these are rooted in an unregulated nervous system, which only means the prioritization of survival, fight flight, worry, planning for worst case scenarios (the past) -- in contrast to a reality of creation, possibility, abundance, potentiality, inspiration, aspiration, ambition, excellencies, etc (the future).

In short, sickness = the addiction to worry and the ensuing anxiety morphing into inertia and finally physical disease.

"I'm worried about, even terrified about what might happened if I just let go and stop worrying, if I stop preparing for worst case scenarios... and if I start preparing instead for all the greatness and abundance that's available to my humanity and is my birthright."

Again- it's just a matter of trading in one nervous system (in chaos) - and named "survival" -- for another nervous system (in equanimity) -- and named "creativity" -- the artist, whose greatest artwork is one's own life in abundance.

The great hoax, the great lie is the one we tell ourselves - learned from the LIE all around us -- that "it's just not yet SAFE today right now to feel safe enough to let oneself be inspired, be blown away, to focus only on great blessings, great possibilities, great new abundant life, excellencies. Not today" - the liar continues -- "there are sharks everywhere, stumbling blocks everywhere, and I've got to give all my time and energy to worrying and worrying and worrying about, preventing against, shark-liabilities first. Maybe next week. Maybe next month I'll focus on blessings."
Decades go by and no transition, no metamorphosis from human to superhuman, from the animal perspective to the divine perspective ever happens.
Meanwhile : SARNO whispers in our ear:
"The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be."
It's never too late to make a decision between one versus another kind of person-- one versus another kind of homecoming.

Well said! Most moments we have food, clean water, shelter, clothes, hot showers, breath fresh air, enjoy all the comfort and convenience of modern civilization, no immediate danger of being eaten alive or tortured physically. Yet we feel unsafe everywhere and react to that. Humans are greedy and never satisfied, aren't we?

This is absolutely beautiful! I love it! I’m going to keep it handy and read often. I especially love this:
“let oneself be inspired, be blown away, to focus only on great blessings, great possibilities, great new abundant life, excellencies.”

Even focusing on my TMS cure—my full time job these days— though hopeful, is not really focusing on all I could be. I’m still focusing on what’s wrong, instead of going after all these beautiful right things!

This thread reminded me of the story about Alexander The Great meeting the greek philosopher Diogenes:
