Are these post covid symptoms TMS?

I got hit by covid hard two months ago and have had symptoms since. They are slowly improving but I wonder if they are TMS. Initially they were: insomnia, muscle twitching, anxiety coming and going at very regular hours (e.g. 9pm-11pm, 4am-7am), pretty intense hot flashes, dark and smelly pee, not being able to get through the night without peeing (weird for me), some mild cognitive issues (especially with memory), and exercising making it all worse. I am 80% better now, but I still not able to exercise which is tough as that is a big part of my life.

I also initially had serious fatigue, but having overcome CFS some years ago I recognized it clearly as a TMS symptom and so was able to stop it. But I am unsure about the other symptoms and they have lingered.

Two things making me think that they might not be real is that some seem quite organic, like the dark and smelly pee I had for several weeks or the muscle twitching, and also they have been improving in a very progressive organic-seeming way.

I'd be grateful for any insight you might have on this! I know from experience that once I *know* that something is TMS, I can fight it off pretty fast, but that before that I can be a bit helpless.

My current sense is that I am 60% sure that almost all the symptoms are TMS, except for the dark and smelly pee which might have been my system truly clearing stuff right out after the infection. I feel like my better judgment is telling me to just start exercising seriously again and ignore the symptoms, but I also feel like I need just a bit more information before I can do that.

    Thanks for reading!

Hi Ben_02. I am not a Dr by any means. You could be dehydrated which could cause the dark smelly urine. Try drinking water, Gatorade, what ever you like, atleast 7-8 glasses for a few days and see if it changes. If not I would make an app't and see what the Doc says. Best of Luck, sure you will be fine!

All the TMS experts are saying that “long Covid” Is TMS. My current round of TMS all came on about a month after I got over Covid. I think Covid brought on a lot of anxiety for all of us and even if you think you weren’t afraid to get it, you probably were deep down, so it kicked up some anxiety. It’s also just a great place for TMS to latch onto to— Something you might believe. If you do a search on here for long Covid, you will find a ton of stuff about it being TMS. (You can search using the magnifying glass in the top right hand corner.)

My Mom was very elderly when she got Covid. She got over it initially very fast but had lingering symptoms for a few months that like you mention, simply fade.
She wasn’t afraid of being sick, but it stressed her nervous system simply by being a demanding illness and eventually got back to being her best self.
