Bizarre low level symptom relapse, is this psychogenic?

    Hi all,

I made a huge recovery two years ago from TMS, my modality being Long Covid/Chronic fatigue. Since then, every now and then I'll catch a cold, and recover very quickly, often quicker than I ever did before.

Except now. October last year I was in a bit of a bad place, living with abusive/mentally ill family. I began a relationship with someone I'd been friends with for a long time, quite emotionally charged, and the morning after, I woke up with a blocked nose, stuffy head, felt like a cold, all the normal symptoms. Hadn't had one since spring. Assumed seasonal. It got bad for a week, then a bit better, but then never went away. For 8 months now I have woken up every morning with a blocked nose, just congested, otherwise fine. It takes a while for me to clear it, usually in the shower with the steam and hot water, but it sometimes lingers into the morning. In this time I have worked different jobs, had that relationship stop and start and stop again, weren't a great fit, and haven't spoken much since January. I've been travelling, i've been more and less physically active, busy, restful.

No matter what I do, I wake up with a blocked nose every morning. I've even become more religious, and prayed for it to go away, i'm that frustrated with my normal TMS knowledge not working to stop it. If it's allergies or similar, I know this is TMS too.

I'm not letting it have power over me, I'm living my life, but the symptoms won't go. What am I missing??

Your ability to see it as a 'distraction' is great. Your understanding of how quick this crap happens will be a positive for the rest of your life...

If I were you I would get out a pen and paper and really investigate yourself about that relationship. In fact, I sometimes check the Louise Hay 'encyclopedia' for hints when it isn't a muscular pain....

Sinus' is "irritation at someone close to you'
Stuffy Nose is "Not recognizing self worth"

Don't forget to visualize your whole experience back then. Maybe it was something to do with the Family and feeling dependent or responsible. Maybe that relationship was the only way to feel free at the time.

Once something has gotten conditioned in, I always look back to when I first noticed it (Like you have ) and try to do an investigation of what I missed. After the conditioning sets in, your current problems may worsen it, but they are not the original 'cause'.

    peace

    Thank you.

I get sinus irritation when I'm present with my dad, who has treated me pretty poorly in recent years. The day I began my relationship, I'd just been stood up/dumped by someone else I'd been dating. Very odd timing/coincidence. The person who stood me up was sort of below my league (in the nicest possible way, I was lonely and desperate), and so I really thought I was worthless if even they wouldn't have me. Started the new relationship to cope with that I think. Have meditated long on this relationship I began, and it really doesn't work, it was a lustful mistake.

Very interesting encyclopedia, hadn't encountered it. Quite accurate indeed. Doesn't matter how you deal with current problems, the original cause must always be confronted to alleviate TMS I think.

Blam! Guilt. Friend of mine has pain every time he breaks up with a GF... none of them are really on his level of intelligence, chutzpa, energy...he sees that and breaks up with them and then has weeks of pain. He has now been single a long time and has also had zero pain.
