    Hello :)

I am looking for guidance, mentorship, etc., on how to enter this community professionally. To help spread awareness of TMS and support patients in their journey to living free again.

Some background: I have been in the fitness industry for 12 years, have a bachelor's and master's in Exercise Physiology, and possess too many fitness certifications, including a 500 hr yoga teacher training.

I have dedicated my life to movement and am incredibly grateful to have loved it for so long, but my passions are changing. I want to serve this community and feel the more people doing so, the better!

Would love to hear about ideas, opportunities, or chat some more!

    Hi Sprout
I suggest learning more about the field in general. There are LOADS of youtube channels about TMS. Begin reading books and if you partake in social media, there are some very good professionals to follow like Nichole Sachs, Alan Gordon, Dani Fagan, Phil de la Hay and you might get a lot from Charlie Merrill a sports PT who is also a TMS specialist.. Several people offer training courses for professionals in the field.
Lorimer Mosley in Australia (you can take his Uni courses via the internet) offers training specifically for movement/exercise professionals, Dr. Schubiner, Alan Gordon and Nichole Sach's all have practitioner training courses.

    Hi Sprout!
What country are you in? Would have a suggestion to make if you're in the UK.

I agree with @Cactusflower, that a solid grounding in the mindbody practices that have come out of the theories of John Sarno MD is the first step.

You can practice working with individuals here on this forum. Study the many different ways in which seekers look for answers and how they respond to the people who volunteer their time to help as well as themselves continuing to learn.

Complete the two main programs we offer for free: the Structured Educational Program and Alan Gordon's Pain Recovery Program.

Take a certificate training course, such as the Sarno x Sachs Solution. https://www.yourbreakawake.com/sarnosachs (Sarno x Sachs | Practitioner Training | BreakAwake with Nicole Sachs)

Join the mindbody practitioner organization that used to be called the PPDA, now rebranding itself as ATNS, (but the website is https://www.symptomatic.me/ (Symptomatic – Association for Treatment of Neuroplastic Symptoms) and the old PPDA domain is still out there.) I can't actually figure out if they have a certificate program or what, perhaps because the sites and the redirects are not yet optimized, or maybe just not optimized for my preferred phone browser. Still, it's probably not a bad idea to become an ATNS member, as it is definitely the go-to group of the most well-known MBS practitioners. I have a non-professional membership just to keep in touch. The founder of our forum is a founding board member, although he is not a practitioner, but rather a peer advocate.
