Cartesianism

Hi, all
The biomechanics model of our body, and the biomedical treatments offered for its malfuctioning, are SO powerful, promising and succeful in MANY ways and cases, that the mindbody approach (TMS, Sarno,...) is seen as something unrealistic and oldfashioned, even quackery, by desperate sufferers.
What's your experience?

Cartesian's and their like have also given rise to Politics, Modern-tail-chasing-science and Communism. All of them have a model that would be flawless "if only if...."

Descartes discovered the core of the ego. All of us know, firsthand and otherwise how well stuff works when that Demon gets to drive the car.

 

.... except when you start counting side effects, pills that have to be taken to offset the damages done by the original pills, need for continuous taking of the pills etc...

To that, I have to agree. Desperate sufferers are conditioned to believe that there are magic pills that fix all of their life-long neglects of body and mind in 2 days. I can't argue with them, because no mindbody approach can fix those life-long problems in 2 days. Keep searching, desperate sufferers, for the rest of your lives, instead of examining your life and making life-saving changes, albeit taking 2 months or even 2 years (while still fixing your problems instead of endless searching!!!).
