Today's journal exercise was to write a conversation with another person causing stress in your life. You could also write to a body part. This resonated with me as I always have so much fear surrounding the sensations of pain in my body.

I chose to write to the sensation of pain I experience in my chest. I tried my best not to over analyse it and just write out a dialogue from between the 2 of us. I felt a little funny doing it but was pleasantly surprised when I finished the exercise and the sensation of pain was greatly reduced. I'll take that as a win.

That's great, @Mando! You might find somatic tracking / experiencing interesting/helpful to explore at some point - it often feels like just what you are describing - a dialogue between me and my body and I've found it so helpful (but wasn't able to really explore it until my nervous system healed more).
Sending all good thoughts your way!

Hey, cheers for that. I've heard of somatic tracking but not familiar with it at all. This is all new to me and I guess that's the point... learning to find better ways to deal with emotions and pain.

@Diana-M :) Thank you. It's really good to get encouragement and be able to have a place to post thoughts and questions. I probably don't need to tell you how lonely being unwell is. I traditionally keep all this stuff hidden from those around me, so it's great to be able to talk about it.
