I was here almost 10 years ago with mid-back pain that eventually went away with this TMS work. Life went on and I forgot about TMS, but pain in my back/hips started to come back. I tried all sorts of mainstream physical therapy, which only brought about temporary pain relief.

A friend of mine recently brought up Dr Sarno and TMS with me, and while I was in denial at first it did eventually hit me as a possibility. I remembered posting on here and going through the program. I began to accept this new wave of back pain as TMS, and the pain almost immediately reduced significantly. I do get flare ups of the pain here and there, so I am committing myself to working through these recovery programs again to get rid of it for good.

This time I am a bit older and wiser and am able to connect with my feelings much more deeply. I feel like I need to stop repressing my emotions so that I can actually live the rest of my life without TMS and debilitating back pain.

I'm glad to hear that you were symptom free for almost 10 years! I'm going through the process for the first time currently, so it's encouraging to see others with prior long-term relief. I'm sorry that you are having to deal with it again, though.

Yeah I think I just forgot some of the lessons over time and fell back into old habits of repressing emotions. This time it seems to be healing quite quickly as I remember to just let my emotions be felt.

Haha, never forget that this is exactly what the TMS mechanism in our brains is designed to do. We don't have to beat ourselves up about this, we just have to do the work again. The good news is that it does get easier over time, and a lot faster to recognize and re-recover! :D
