I currently have a high level of acceptance of a TMS diagnosis. The techniques, ideas and education I’ve found with Dr. Zoffness, the Curable app, Alan Gordon, and Howard Schubiner have been profound. Nothing helped the way these people and ideas have. My brain needed messages of safety. My body didn’t need chiropractic adjustments, messages, dry needling, trigger point injections, faucet injections, muscles relaxers, other pain meds, hours of rest, KT tape, acupuncture or other techniques. The medical world techniques (expect physical therapy, more below) only offered false hope that I endlessly chased for any amount of relief, for even just an hour. But it was the only way I knew and those in my life knew to make it all go away. I knew I had TMS when I listened to the chronic pain education on the Curable app. After listening to many short educational tidbits, my pain was gone in 24 hours. I hadn’t learned about pain or chronic pain from anyone or even thought to look into it before. Since finding the Curable app, I’ve had a few setbacks. But now my setbacks last an hour verses the months of pain I experienced before. I also want to add that I would have never found Dr. Zoffness, then the Curable app, then Alan Gordon and then Howard Schubiner (in that order) if my wonderful physical therapist hadn’t had a heart to heart to me about where to go next with my pain after seeing her for months. She kindly suggested I look into Dr. Zoffness and find a pain mental health expert. Yes, all the wonderful things that have helped me take my pain away wouldn’t have happened had she not made those suggestions. I believe a great physical therapist, any by that I mean, one who is educated on chronic pain and teaches their patient about it, are one of the few medical professionals that can help with our chronic pain journey. I digress and will say, I have TMS, but I can cure myself.
