This is my first time posting but second time working this program. I'm back after 8 years due to a recent sciatica flare up. On my TMS lists for Day 3, there wasn't much that was surprising until I got to the personality traits. Even though I've done this before I was surprised how much applied to me. It's really shocking to see it and I felt that I needed to say this somewhere how difficult it can be to deal with all of this negativity that comes from my own self. The amount of pressure that these traits puts on me on a daily basis is really significant when you step back and look at it. I would never treat someone close to me like this and I wouldn't let them treat themselves like this either. No wonder my unconscious is creating this pain, what is the other option to get some relief from all of that pressure.

    - Perfectionist

    - Goodism

    - People pleaser

    - Stoic

    - Anxious

    - Low Self Esteem

Welcome to the SEP again, @jeremy2.

Relapses in the last several years have become common, I think because of increasing societal dysfunction on top of the emotional triggers we all experience just by getting older. It looks like the intervening years are allowing you to experience new insights!
My advice for doing the SEP is to commit to self-honesty, be willing to be vulnerable, take emotional risks, and be hyper-aware of your brain's desire to get you to rush through the exercises, skip certain topics, and avoid certain memories. Even the smallest things must be written down and considered, no matter how embarrassing or shameful they might be, and no matter how insignificant you're inclined to think they might be. Avoid nothing.
