Hi everyone, it's my third day and today I'm thinking of going back to the pool. I’ve been having a strong, burning and distressing pain in my neck and upper shoulders since Monday evening, after I got back from the pool. Of course, after reading about TMS, I’m hoping this is a conditioned response and that the pool didn’t actually trigger the pain. Tonight, as an experiment, I’d like to go and see what happens, even though I’m afraid and deep down I’m still convinced the pool caused it. I’m scared of how I’ll feel once I’m back home, especially of the intense back pain I might get when I go to bed. I’m already experiencing symptoms even now. But I want to be strong and brave and give this a try to see what happens.

Well, I swam 20 laps and felt like I was part of an experiment! I came out feeling relaxed. Today the pain has migrated to my sternum. And just as I suspected — it moves. For no reason. Why is it that, despite that shoulder pain, I was able to swim again, and while I was swimming, I didn’t feel it?
