Day 4 Disheartening things doctors have said about symptoms

The first things to stick out are the comments doctors make without being aware of their impact. When I started getting tests for my symptoms the doctor I was seeing thought I might have a very serious electrical abnormality with my heart, so sent me off to the cardiologist. After my exercise stress test I went back to see my doctor as it was going to be a few weeks until my cardiologist appointment and he looked at the stress test results and then just said to me, ‘I hope you’re seeing the cardiologist soon’. Then refused to say anything else! After a fearful anxious few weeks I saw the cardiologist who said everything was normal on that test so I don’t know why the doctor said that. Another doctor felt my pulse and said, ‘mmm it certainly is irregular’ and no more comments. I’d had the reassurance from my cardiologist at this point but the doctor saying that triggered my anxiety again as I’d gone through a few months of being very afraid while I did all the cardiology testing.

I have also felt very dismissed - once they ran blood tests, and did a few MRI’s they basically sent me on my way and I felt too embarrassed to go back even though my symptoms were still debilitating and they hadn’t given me any answers.
