I’m Jill Zeligson Brenner and I’m a psychotherapist in private practice in Austin,
Texas. I’ve struggled with migraines since I was 18 years old. The memory of my
first one I ever got is seared into my brain. It hit the summer I came home from
my first year in college. The pain, the confusion, the dark room I couldn’t get to
    fast enough.

Since then, I’ve had “seasons” I can recall where migraines were few and far
between or seasons from hell where the headaches were relentless.
I tried everything. Different medications (so many that I’ve lost count), weird
contraptions, menthol patches to put on my forehead, and several different
    neurologists all to no avail.

About 2 years ago, as I entered my later 40’s (and what looking back now was
perimenopause kicking into full gear) my migraines started increasing in
frequency and severity. I was getting them every 2 to 3 days! It was ruining my
life. I know that sounds dramatic but it took away so much. I was anxious and
depressed. I was often anxious wondering if I was going to have a headache for
an upcoming event, vacation, activity, or work. If that was the case then I was
depressed afterward feeling like I was trapped in this headache cycle that had
taken over my life. I sat through a number of dinners with friends and slogged
through work with my head feeling like it was in a vice.

After a few years of this, and trying just about everything I could think of, I
returned back to a way of thinking that I hadn’t used in al long time. I’m a big
believer in the mind-body connection. I’ve healed some of my running injuries
with mind-body techniques. Thank you doctor Sarno! A little over a year ago I
was desperately trying to find something that could alleviate all the pain and
turned again to the mind-body world looking for answers and ways to heal this
pain. I came across a list serve called the TMS Wiki. I scrolled through their
videos and messages, read all the praise people had for healing all sorts of
chronic pain with Sarno methods and other helpful mind-body techniques. There
were a couple messages praising a specific practitioner who got rid of their
migraines for good. I was skeptical but at that point I would do almost anything
    to find relief.

For the last year I’ve been working with that practitioner and have had amazing
results that I did not believe were possible 12 months ago. This migraine guru
who has changed my life, is Laurel Steinberg, PhD. If you are stuck in the same
rut that I’m describing....contact her right now! Like right now! Here’s her

I’m not going to lie, there are sacrifices in this journey but they outweigh the pain
of living like an elephant is sitting on your head. I just turned 50 this year and for
the first time since that inaugural migraine when I was 18, I have the most
migraine freedom I’ve ever had. This might seem like a normal thing to those
who don’t get headaches but I’ve had multiple migraine free days and weeks in
a row and I couldn’t have done it without Laurel’s guidance, reassurance and
    professional nudges ;)
