I am at day 6 of the SEP today where I should write about my potential doubts about the TMS diagnosis.

I realize that I totally accept the diagnosis as I am totally sure that my GI symptoms (functional dyspepsia) are not structural but TMS. In fact, functional dyspepsia should be the perfect example for TMS as you get the diagnosis by excluding any other structural disease in your stomach. Nevertheless, I struggle to be be convinced that I will heal from it. Doubts come to my mind quite often and I could not stop them although i do not want them to have. Can anyone relate to this?

One problem that I see in a lot of mindbody videos is that the person says "you have proof of it being TMS, so you shouldn't be afraid of it anymore". The thing is, TMS is sneaky and will find a way to make you doubt the healing even knowing there's no damage. I completely relate to your doubts, it was hard to start believing in the cure on a deeper level.

What changed the game for me was watching these doubts surface during meditation. Slowly it became clear they were coming from an area heavily influenced by TMS. I started seeing these doubts as symptoms themselves.

There's another thing I wish people said more on these mindbody videos: the neuroplasticity work that your brain is going through in order to create painless ways is the same work in which your beliefs and emotions will change. It's unfair to expect a person to start believing in the healing just because they got to know what TMS is. It will take time for their brain to create sinapses that gives body to this new belief system.

So don't worry, you will eventually believe in the healing more and more.
