Exercise update! (From housebound to freedom!)

I’m going to use this thread to update my progress on my exercise. I’m on Week 3 of my bed yoga. I’m averaging about four times a week, 15 min. each. At first I wanted to do more, but that’s all that ended up happening reasonably.

Every day I’m feeling more limber and definitely stronger. Starting to get some Glute muscles again. (I think I had none!) On the downside, my symptoms have kicked up and now it’s even harder to go down the steps, which is pretty much infuriating me. This TMS brain is not going to win because I will Never. Give. Up.

I’m here to testify that exercising does make you feel better— not only physically, but it infuses you with so much hope! (I regret that I delayed exercising for a year!) The trick is to find something you can do multiple times a week that after a while you actually look forward to— if not physically, then at least psychologically —being proud that you’re doing it.

Please share your exercise stories here!

    This is wonderful progress, Diana!

Exercise is one of my favorite things. If you find something you genuinely enjoy, it’s fun.

I recently learned about muscle memory. If you already had muscle mass, you gain it back much quicker when you restart after not training for a bit. It’s pretty fascinating.

I enjoy moving my body in different ways. Barre, Pilates, walking, dance and most recently I incorporated weightlifting a couple times a week. Nothing strenuous but enough to get a nice sweat and feel amazing after.

That’s awesome! I bet you feel tough and great! And I’m glad to hear about the muscle memory, because once upon a time, I had a lot of muscles! Lol
