Experience treating OCD with TMS?

    Hello,

I am wondering if anyone has any success stories treating OCD with the journalspeak or TMS program?

My friend who is a therapist likes the TMS approach and seems to think OCD could be related to that.

but I have journaled for years and am very very aware of the negative narratives, shame, etc I experience. It doesn’t seem like I am avoiding much there to me. But perhaps I need to experience the worthlessness more fully or differently. Like I said I have noticed that stuff over and over.

I know usually ERP, CBT, and medication are the main treatments, and I have tried those. ERP and CBT have helped but I could use more.

I will be honest it was kind if surprising and frustrating to listen to the podcast episode on pelvic pain and OCD and hear Nichole say she hadn’t even heard of the form of OCD the person had, seemingly hadn’t heard of ERP, didn’t have a background in OCD, yet confidently said it’s just another symptom imperative and just like back pain. I can’t say for sure she is wrong, but how would she know since the client was educating her? And this was only one form of ocd that didn’t involve compulsive actions, just ruminations.

OCD is an attempt to ease anxiety so in that sense it is a way to avoid feelings, and ERP helps that by exposing yourself to the anxiety of not doing the compulsions, and learning to tolerate that. Not sure how related to TMS that is or not as I am new to TMS.

For me the OCD has changed forms, but has been contamination/hand washing focused most recently and checking in about safety issues with therapy clients I had before when I was a therapist.

Anyways, would love to hear any feedback if TMS helped or not.

and use the search Feature for "STOP THERAPY OCD"

There is nothing to Buy. There is no New acronym. No podcast or any other way to make money off of the sufferers...that's why no one hears about it.
Nobody is your 'counselor' and Nobody will be your higher authority, BUT You will no longer suffer from OCD.

TMS is just OCD of the body. I would venture to say OCD is worse than TMS, because it stole decades from me while TMS only stole a couple of years.

    Yes , it's that simple.

    Hi, Magic!

I have had OCD as a symptom on and off. I absolutely believe it is TMS. It’s a huge distraction from your emotions. It’s crazy making! You mention you like CBT. I only recently discovered it, and it has been very significant in helping me to feel better. I learned about it in this book called, Feeling Good, by David Burns. He has a 3 column way Of analyzing your thinking and changing your thought patterns. I’ve been doing it for two months and have noticed drastically improved everything mental for me. His theory is what you think is how you will feel. And it’s so true! Check out the book it’s been around for a while. It’s going to be one of my top healing books for TMS. I can’t say enough good things about it. Hope this helps!

Get the book, Feeling Good, by David Burns. Read it and do everything he says. You’ll feel much much better.
