so the good news for today is still no headaches! I had a massage with my regular massage therapist and told her my new "philosophy" and she was also familiar with Dr. Sarno's book which is great. She told me my shoulder and neck muscles - which are usually extremely tight and sore and lead to my tension headaches - were much more relaxed today than she's ever seen. So it seems as though my mind is communicating to my muscles in the way I was hoping - telling them to relax and loosen up, literally!
On another note though, I woke up this morning with a swollen and irritated left eye... The skin is red, puffy, and irritated, and my neck has been breaking out in eczema worse than usual. Could this be a transfer of the TMS now that I've figured out the headache issue? Anyone else have experience with this type of thing?

You are so lucky that you found someone familiar with Dr. Sarno's approach!
I am an eczema sufferer too (on my hands), but I can not believe that you wrote this, because I have a scar on my arm from a severe eczema outbreak I had in my 20's. This is long healed and hasn't bothered me for over 15 years. Well, just this week, out of nowhere, it started itching again. Nothing is even there besides the old scar!! I even woke up the other morning with my arm bleeding from scratching. No doubt my brain trying to use old familiar routes since my back pain is under control. Crazy.

Hi becky. I have found that pain, no matte what or where it is, moves around and that is normal in TMS. You did great with relaxing and your headache went away. The same will happen with your eye and red skin. Believe it is caused by your emotions and not structural. It's great that your masseur noticed your shoulder and neck muscles are more relaxed. You are doing everything right to heal and it's early in the SEProgram. You'll get better as you go along in it.
