Finally, our Western medicine learns what was well-known before Western medicine was born fingersinears. All the traditional schools of medicine do not distinguish between physical and mental.

I remember Nicole saying in one of her podcasts that by the time she got into the field, she was so excited and Dr. Sarno was in despair. It's good to think the work might have finally given him back some hope if he were still here.

I think that diet is very important as well. It can influence the mind or body and can cause many illnesses.

Then, another point is how rested is the body or the mind. Does one use exercise/working out to relax or not? Pleasant hobbies? Walking in nature? Paying the violin?

Do you think about crappy stuff all day long or not? Where is your mind during the day? ("you" in general) Negative thinking about x or y? Watching the news like a maniac and believing it all to be accurate? Or taking care of your mental state and concentrating on the positive things in life?

Another point for mind/body suffering is the side effects of medications. You take something for treating x and it gives you depression as a side effect. And so on.

Medicine today is practiced as if they treat a certain part of the body and not the whole. Primitive.

Hopefully more positive changes will be made in this field of mind/body connection.
