Have You Hit This Stage?

Gentle reminder: I’ve been noticing a pattern lately, especially with those who are newer to TMS work, and I wanted to share this as a reminder:

There is a stage in this process where frustration can increase. You're doing everything right, you’re consistent, you consciously understand the concepts, you may not be fearing symptoms as strongly anymore, and yet, "where's my progress?!" "why is this still happening!?"

Just know this stage does not mean failure or that you did something wrong -- your system just hasn't fully caught up yet. This is a great time to also learn patience (I had to learn this!)

Try to keep going, even if it's baby steps! Your mind and body respond to compassion. It's like training a puppy.

You’re not alone. Many of us have been exactly where you are right now.

Thanks, @HealingMe . You are spot on with this. I'm consistent with my routines, but frustrated with lack of progress and the same triggers causing the same symptoms, which eventually spirals into fear that I will always be like this. I will be patient and give it as long as it takes.

Great reminder, Healing, thank you! :)

I want to add this interview on Doc Tovah's about how the brain physiological changes that happen during healing are very likely to bring new different symptoms, including the fatigue that makes us tired of the work. It's not that we're stuck or getting worse, it's actually the opposite:

    Thanks @feduccini.

When I was changing habits and began fearing things less, I noticed I became fatigued -- it's another thing that can make us panic. However, I learned it's a nervous system recalibration. My whole life I was fed these false alerts, so when things began to quiet and get boring, I became fatigued, low energy. It's important to remember that this is normal and a great sign that things are shifting -- no need to fear it!
