Hello, my name is Alan, I'm 36 years old, and I've been dealing with persistent pelvic pain for almost three years. The doctors have not been able to agree on a definitive diagnosis. They all seem to have different opinions, but the current label I’ve been given is Pudendal Neuralgia.
Over the course of this journey, I’ve had multiple tests including CT scans, ultrasounds, MRIs, and blood work, yet everything has come back normal. I’ve also tried various medications prescribed for pain, depression, and anxiety, but none of them have helped. In fact, some have actually made the pain worse.
While searching on YouTube for exercises that might help my condition, I came across the term TMS. That led me to discover the work of Dr. John Sarno. I’ve read his book The Mindbody Prescription, and it really resonated with me. I saw myself reflected in almost every page.
Deep down, I do believe that the root cause of my pain may be psychosomatic. However, despite that belief, I’ve never been able to stop the pain from tormenting me during every waking hour. After losing faith in traditional medicine, I’ve become open to exploring this mind-body approach, and I’m hopeful it could be the path toward healing.
