After 2.5 years of teaching in public school and watching everyone around me get covid, 2 days ago I go covid. Locked in a room I had no excuse not to start this program. 40 years of chronic pain and I am so hopeful that this is the cause. I am concerned that my symptoms have been so long that it is beyond repair but I know I must change that thinking. The type of person who has TMS is me to a tee and I look forward to discovering the person I have repressed for years.

It's never too late (I was 60 when I joined the forum in 2011). Welcome @Earlson!

Take care. Hope your COVID is a mild case. It must have been very hard to avoid being in the classroom.
Be aware that as your healing from the virus, the cytokines that heal can cause anxiety or depression.
Great time to start getting to know yourself and the journaling will be helpful on all fronts.

I don't think the amount of time the symptoms have been around should matter. Whether it's a year or 10 years or 40 years, once released its released. It's going to feel great when that pain vanishes. Best of luck with your journey. And your virus.
