    Hi all,

I have just been diagnosed with Lichen Sclerosis by my gynecologist. Of course I went down the rabbit hole of reading horror stories on various support group pages for Lichen Sclerosis and am now totally freaked out. When I did a quick search here I only found people saying that it MAYBE could be TMS. Now I am freaking out more, as I had it in the back of my mind that I shouldn’t worry because this was TMS. I have healed from other TMS conditions like Long Covid. Can anyone confirm that they’ve healed this with mind body work? Feeling desparate here

“Freaking out more” and “desperate” tells me that in general, you are an anxious person. If you have not yet read a book by Claire Weekes, do it. If you have, re-read and utilize her techniques.Freaking out puts your nervous system in a disregulated state which is TMS fuel.
“In the back of my mind” is a statement that alludes you feel you have no control over your reaction. TMS skills teach you to respond to triggers so that they soften. What things did you do to heal your past TMS? Journal? Meditate? If so, engage in those and if recognize that you have anxiety, do those things regularly, symptoms or not. Actively engaging in the work helps you regulate your nervous system.
My point is, that sometimes things happen outside of our control. We get illnesses, diseases, and other external stressors but it’s our internal response that creates fertile ground for TMS whether those diagnoses are in fact TMS or not. The up side is that you can handle the stress better. The icing on the cake is that if anything is TMS you are already doing the work. You can still do whatever the doctors recommend.
@JanAtheCPA has RA and takes her medication while practicing TMS skills. Is RA TMS? Who knows? but it’s now something she deals with but has few symptoms.
Chronic cough is one of my symptoms, allergies which I don’t have daily aggravate it. I take an allergy pill and forget about it. Does the pill help? Are all allergies TMS? Who really knows? The point is I don’t freak out so they don’t bother me. When I cough, I immediately think psychologically and it usually stops.

If you want to know more about a medical diagnoses that we can’t help you with, contact a TMS doctor.

Was there any big stressor that preceded this diagnosis? Do you have a history of anything related to that area of your body? Do you match up with the personality traits of TMS? Personally, I feel like most autoimmune diseases are caused by TMS. If they crop up out of nowhere and there’s no family history or genetic component to the AID, I believe it’s caused by TMS. I’ll link a Reddit story I found of a woman who healed herself through mind body work from this condition: https://www.reddit.com/r/lichensclerosus/s/TVlYTTPoU9

However don’t read the comments on this persons story. It’s just of people telling her she will probably relapse at some point and spreading their “words of wisdom” which just sounds like them trying to drag her from her success back into the trenches of despair. I have looked up this persons status and she has been symptom free for a year or so now. I totally believe LS is TMS.
