A conundrum when doing this work is that a very rarely do I find a connection over the years when I go through a difficult emotional time and the pain gets worse. In so many of the testimonials there seems to be a clear link here. In my situation the times that I have got worse all seem to be due to physically overdoing it.

    please advise

I think maybe you need to dig deeper.

In my view, there are two strands to the TMS work.

One is connecting our physical symptoms to our emotions and exploring what is hiding - rage, grief, shame, despair. Key point is that it these emotions are repressed. This means that they are hidden from our awareness. So we have to consistently practice in uncovering them. And TMS does not have to be from a big emotional event it can just as easily arise from an accumulation of tension from many micro moments where your needs were not met.

The other is breaking the pain-fear cycle that unconsciously develops from being in pain for so long. This is the part that Alan Gordon specalises in and the structured education program on here is amazing at working through.
We have to know that our bodies are healthy and start living like that. That means we cannot overdo it more than the average human being. Because our bodies are strong and healthy.

It might be that you need to focus more on the second strand for now and can move towards to emotional exploration after. The same path does not work for all beings and TMS is a process of figuring out what you need and when.

I agree, @Rusty Red (second time our thoughts have meshed today :D)

This, in particular, is really important to comprehend, as it's an aspect that is too often overlooked:
    You're on fire, @mrefreddyg :joyful:
