Need some clarification on TMS symptoms

Hello everyone,

I've posted here once before talking about my TMS situation. I have muscle contractions in my upper neck that constantly occur throughout the day and I get lots of pain in my neck and head from this. My question is why do I get pain from the muscle contractions if they aren't harmful? Are the contractions causing muscle strain? I stress about this constantly.
