Day 33 QTP: Positive Changes During Program

Addressing the question to ponder on whether I have had positive changes during the program: hell yes.
It has been quiet a journey, with ups and downs but I really feel I have had significant benefits that I will post here in the hopes of encouraging others:

One of the things I grew in is knowing myself better. Through journaling and reading, I was able to identify character and personality traits in myself and being able to see what caused them (or helped them grow). This gave me more clarity at my issues and how I need to deal with them.

Another deeply positive thing is learning to love myself (with the extra help of Alan Gordon's Pain Recovery Program). I learned that I deserve my unconditional love, I don't have to achieve things and fulfill my dreams to love myself (of course I still pursue my dreams, but I start loving myself from now). I learned that I should give myself a break, I cant keep putting pressure on myself, I should accept my shortcomings and gently work on them. I learned to talk to myself positively instead of bullying myself every time I make a mistake. To take care of myself, have some time for self care even though I feel i could use this time to "be productive".

I still have a long way to go, and of course pain levels are much better (its funny how the first positive stuff that come to mind from a program for pain are stuff not actually related to pain). I definitely feel less back pain (although sometimes pain manifests in other forms but thats okay) and am deeply thankful for this program both from a pain alleviation and personal growth perspective.

Cheers to everyone who helped in this program, you are awesome.

So glad for you! Finding and being able to take on the TMS stuff is such a good way of becoming a better person - as well as getting rid of pain... I am actually thinking it is a blessing - we are maybe hyper-sensitive - but by the same dint we are able to understand the cause and effect of pain and dis-ease in our bodies - indeed - in our lives! This makes us better at understanding others too - even if many of them cannot take the responsibility of TMS on their own shoulders! I find that 9 years on from starting this journey - I am a far more compassionate and effective person than I was!
The learning to love ourselves and give ourselves a break - is really fundamental.... so good on you for doing it!!

Thank you very much for your encouragement!! Absolutely true. The need to understand ourselves and be introspective to deal with TMS really is a great thing that affects our entire lives - our relationship with ourselves and with others. Couldn't agree more.

So good to read this post. The personal growth before pain reduction resonates with me. I am grateful to the programme for that too. May your progress continue unabated Ludwig!
