Shoulder pain really worried

Hi guys, I've been having an issue with my right shoulder for about a month now. It started with feeling a tightness in my chest muscles after working out, so I decided to stretch them. I began stretching almost every day, continually progressing to more challenging stretches until I reached the "german hang". Over time, there wasn't much improvement, and the stretches started to cause more pain. It felt as though something might tear, so I stopped doing them. After that, when I began to work out, I felt the same pain with every exercise. The pain seems to be located in the tendons at the front of the shoulder, in the armpit, and in the chest muscles.

I am an extremely anxious person, and when this happened, I became angry with myself for possibly doing something foolish. Currently, I keep searching the internet for various diagnoses, and I'm afraid I might have damaged something and that my shoulder will never be the same. I suspect it might be TMS because I had a similar problem with my knee. With the knee, I visited numerous specialists and could never figure out why it hurt. Structurally, nothing seemed wrong. Then, I consulted one of the top experts in Europe who works with Olympic athletes. He told me that given the minor pathology he observed (a slightly tilted patella - which many top athletes have and still perform well with), it's unlikely to be causing the pain I felt. He suggested that the issue might be more psychological than physical.

After that, I started looking into the psychological impact on the body. I stopped fearing the pain, and over time, it genuinely went away. Now, I can squat on that knee without any pain. However, when it comes to this shoulder issue, I'm still worried I've damaged something. I visited an orthopedist yesterday, and after examining me, he suggested that I've probably just strained some muscles and tendons. To be sure, he did an ultrasound, which showed no issues. But I suspect he didn't do the ultrasound thoroughly, as it only lasted about a minute. I'm left feeling that he didn't examine me sufficiently and that my shoulder will never be alright. How do I deal with such a situation?

By the way, he told me to let it rest for at least a month, but what if it's not better after a month? I'm genuinely quite scared.

That is funny... "It's nothing big... but it's so important, let it rest for a month!"
(Oh yeah...You can pay my secretary on the way out for the 10 minutes you took up)

Nowadays they make people get up immediately after big surgeries

This is why it is hard to deal with the "Medieval Mythological Medical system"

Sarno spoke to your situation exactly...that is absolutely the worst thing you can do because if it's TMS, that is telling your body that something reeeeally bad is going on.
...and since doctors from the MMM system don't acknowledge TMS, they don't realize they are exacerbating the symptoms

The Best thing you could do it read One of Sarno's books because it goes into all of this stuff. I will share a short vignette.

After My back pain went away (thanks Dr Sarno) I began having a shoulder pinching feeling...I could throw a baseball but I couldn't lift it sideways without excruciating pinching feelings. Not knowing it was TMS I went to my regular Dr. who told me to take a week off coaching baseball (I routinely threw 500 pitch BPs) and He gave me a cortisone injection....after a few days off, It was worse than it ever had been!!

I got an inkling it was like my back and reviewed "Healing Back Pain" with all of it's questions and suggestions but substituted 'shoulder' for 'back'.... I was in horrible pain at the next practice, but realized I had to condition it out...so I threw Batting Practice all the while focusing on what I was really angry about... having to be a coach rather than getting to play in my own league!! Pain literally left while I was throwing baseballs.

I have done the same for a variety of TMS symptoms and after 25 years it has NEVER hurt me or made it worse.
