Do we have any more information about sleep apnea? I am soon to do a sleep study as i need 10-10.5 hours a night to feel normal and wake up every hour. I also fit the standard criteria of recessed jaw narrow palate and 4 pre molars removed so it could be a structural issue but i am also extremely anxious. So before i “fix” with studys and cpaps could it be tms or do we still not really know?

The mechanics behind sleep apnea are controlled by your brain just like every single other physical sensation and process that occurs in your body. Someone who is very mindful about their thoughts and expectations before going to sleep can have a great night's sleep without apnea, and I know that's been reported a few times by people who had an apnea concern and even a Dx. This have probably not happened very often, probably because it's hard to illustrate or report on a negative that is occurring during sleep (eg: a belief that someone is no longer experiencing apnea and that they are getting the rest they desire - which is impossible to prove without all the tests and if someone has recovered on their own with good TMS work, why would they get the tests?) In other words, it's a LOT easier to report that "I no longer have back pain or IBS".

Based on my experience on this forum, I suspect that as long as you're obsessed with emotionally-induced expectations and self-pressure about the supposed quality of your sleep, anything we have to say is ultimately pointless, especially considering the fact that none of us are qualified experts. If you showed signs of being more proactive and open-minded and willing to go all-in on the real emotional self-examination and letting go of rigid opinions about sleep quality, I might have a different answer. I'm being brutally honest. Take it for what it's worth and if it doesn't resonate, feel free to ignore it! Sometimes people haven't really considered an alternative way of thinking.

I'm treating my sleep. My apnea level is low but I snore a lot and that also gets in the way of you entering the REM stage. A high level of apnea will make you feel always tired regardless of how many sleep hours.

Instead of CPAP I use an intraoral appliance that prevents the tongue from touching your throat. It helps me rest better and I suspect it made a positive difference on TMS symptoms.
