Hello Everyone, I am starting again today. I have just been through the most traumatic experience. Our home has been completely destroyed by a fire which swept through our little town in the Western Cape destroying 200 homes including our cottage. My husband and I only managed to save our two cats, our passports and important papers and a few clothes. Unfortunately we were not insured. We have been overwhelmed by the kindness and support of the local community, friends and family, who offered the use of their homes, as well as clothing, food and financial support. It has been very humbling but also an incredibly emotional and stressful time. We are slowly trying to come to terms with our loss and to look forward and not dwell on the past. So now it's back to Day one.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Dr. Sarno who has inspired so many. How wonderful that Dr. Schubiner and Alan Gordon are continuing in his footsteps. I wish them well in their new study.

Hi, Shine4me. I'm so sorry about losing your house in the terrible fire in your town. But thank God you and your husband and cats were not injured. Thank God also for the help of family and friends and the community. You may feel physical and emotional pain because of this traumatic experience. That is to be expected, but belief in TMS and you faith will help you through it.
God bless and my prayers are with you.

Thank you Walt. Unfortunately I've lost all my books as well, so thank goodness I am able to utilize the mine of information available on this site. I am still very emotional and rather weepy, but am busy trying to furnish the apartment that we will be renting from the beginning of September. (So weird to start with absolutely nothing). I might need to postpone starting the program until life settles down a bit. I was at the bed shop today - testing all the different types of mattress (too many choices-my head is spinning). Thank you for your prayers - I know I'm in His hands.

So very sorry to hear of your misfortune. I can only imagine how stressful and difficult this all must be. I'll just join in with Walt and say how fortunate that everyone is safe. You have a great attitude about it all and that will serve you well as you re-build your life.

I wish you all the best as you move forward........

    My love,

I can't think of words that could begin to cover your loss but I thank God that you have been swept into an embrace of kindness by your community and family. People are essentially good and times like this remind us of that so profoundly.

Take all the time you need to establish your new life and remember we are here if you need moral support from afar.

Sending love and keeping you safe in my prayers.
