    Hi everyone,

I have been on this journey for two years now and have had many pretty eccentric symptoms and done about every type of modality (TMS) there is and read most books (told my many of the MDs and therapists I work with that I need to focus less on TMS). However I have some newer symptoms that have some structural aspect to them after a pelvic stress fracture in April. Prior to mid November I was very active with an hour of cardio daily and am now having some issues walking, moving due to a recent diagnosis of a sports hernia. There are some surgeons who will fix these however it's no guarantee and I am wanting to go the conservative route considering my understanding of Dr. Sarno's work. This is a new tear on MRI compared to previous and at the tendon insertion. They can take time to heal on their own. (I am a physician assistant so already have the information, have not spent a ton of time researching) I am curious if anyone has ever had a "sports hernia"/osteitis pubis (tear on MRI near some bony edema) diagnosis and used either TMS combined with some PT (have not done any PT since starting this journey but due to the tear/original fracture will start some) and if anyone has worked with Jason from the OP clinic (he knows TMS well and The Way Out but also has a structural approach to the strength part for allowing the tissue to heal that focuses on biomechanics. Overall I liked him but with TMS in regards to previous symptoms have tried to focus away from the body. His approach seems to focus on getting you to activate certain muscle groups through movement to create more stability and safety in the body and getting in touch with how you feel moving which I feel could help).

Second I started getting about 4 months ago dry mouth, facial numbness/tightness, trouble moving the muscles of my face to speak/make expressions, some swelling of an eye at times, red nose, TMJ in the sense that my jaw pops out when I chew or talk and clicks which leads to numbness and more dryness but doesn't hurt the actual joint and some tension on this side with numbness of the left eyebrow. Extensive detail sorry and knowing the anatomy and also having a brain stimulator (different story), I will go get an MRI or CT to make sure there is nothing sinister but I am curious if anyone has had these with TMS or similar? I also am a bit frightened the nerve is damaged and getting the CT of the jaw scares me with what the doctor might say. Anyways sorry for the long rant. Been working hard on emotions, self compassion, thinking psychological, Dan Buglio work, journaling, Neil Curran's, meditation, somatic tracking, EFT, breathing etc, and working with a couple practitioners.

Hope everyone had a happy new years and more so looking for success stories!

“told my many of the MDs and therapists I work with that I need to focus less on TMS”

    your own nugget of wisdom!

The above first post is good, but is highly focused on the physical symptoms you experience. Reading between the lines, I see both massive anxiety and words like “working hard” show a lot of self-pressure.
The goal either TMS work as Dr. Sarno (who you did not mention, and is the person with the keys to all this work) is to get back to daily life. So you want to do the work as a small part of your day integrating the methods into the things of daily life.
“A couple of practitioners” - at the same time or at different parts of your journey?
Slow down. You don’t need success stories. You are all on board with the ideas of doing TMS work and now you need to slow down and take them to heart, and soul. Step out of the mind, the forcing, the pushing yourself to “succeed”, searching for more answers and knowledge and ultimately being a victim to your pain and symptoms. Focus much more on the psychological as Dr. Sarno also writes and your unacknowledged inner rage (also Sarno) and be kind to yourself. Accept that these things are temporary and simply a result in inner stress from anxiety.
I had many of your symptoms (and still have some) and many many more. They continued to pile on until I took the pressure off and dealt with the anxiety (any book by Claire Weekes). I still have pain, symptoms, fear but way less anxiety and live my life with joy.. and am still learning that not “doing” but just being is apart of a full life.

It’s this balance of doing the TMS things, living life and learning not to keep beating yourself to a pulp ( which is a sneaky and insidious thing) that begins to inch you towards freedom.

It's crystal clear to anyone reading this that you have a lot going on. Just look at the thread title.

And the anxiety you feeling is evident in your post. Cactusflower is right, you're trying too hard. You want to be healed "too much" - once you've reached a point you can relax and become "outcome independent" then you'll start seeing results. Unfortunately it doesn't happen fast, and it certainly won't happen on your schedule, whatever that schedule may be. Good luck, this forum is a wonderful resource for help/guidance, although you may want to repost in the "support forum" instead.

Hah - truer words were never spoken.

@Recoverytime2024!, I wonder if you could trim down your lengthy list of TMS-related activities (it's exhaustively long even before the "etc"!) by zooming way out and then refocusing on the following goals:
Choose emotional vulnerability instead of victimhood
Choose patience and kindness for yourself instead of pressure
