Day 42 The End, but much to learn

    Hi everyone,

Well, the time has come. I have reached the final day of this program. I've learned a ton, and by and large, I feel a lot better.

I'm actually a professional journalist, and for weeks, I've dreamed about writing an article or an essay about my journey -- how learning about TMS has transformed my life. How years of chronic neck and back pain just ... melted away, with the knowledge that I have this condition. I've journaled about intense, painful childhood memories; learned about current stressors, and how particular mindsets contribute to pain; and, by and large, I have lived a pain-free 2025.

And yet -- I sit here, on the final day of my program, with sharp pain in the right side of me neck.

As a writer, I appreciate the irony. As the being occupying this sack of flesh, I am frustrated.

I do know exactly where this bout of pain is coming from -- something stressful in my personal life that I am currently wrestling through. My goal today is to practice outcome independence; I'm going to continuously focus on the psychological , and not pay this pain any attention. Because that's what it wants. It wants to be a distraction.

But I've learned way too much about this pesky condition to let it subsume me.

Alas, I still have much to learn.

Hope to continue this dialogue with all of you, who've been such a huge help along this journey (which sounds cliche, but is so so true).

    Wishing you all good health.

Yay! You stayed the course! There are quite a few writers here, I’m discovering. Isn’t it ironic where our pain hits? Every place we need to be comfy writing! I send you my best wishes for continuing your path to vibrant health!
