    Hi all.

Has anyone had reoccurring tongue sores manifest as tms?

I see a stress connection for sure, but have had more in recent months.

    thanks for chiming in.

Mouth sores and stress are totally connected, and I'll bet your dentist will be happy to assure you of that (many dentists seem to be quite tuned in to the mind body connection).

As for "the last few months", gee, I wonder what could possibly be going on during that time period to cause stress?

If you realize what the (to me, blindingly obvious) answer to that question is, no details please, as we must keep the forum neutral. However, if you were to simply refer to "current events", we would have to say "Welcome to the club." It ain't great.

We all have our coping mechanisms for these times. Some are healthier than others, but the first one is to use our TMS knowledge and skills to face and somehow accept the dire effect that massive uncertainty has on our sense of safety and well-being. Once we engage mindfully and realize what's happening, we can help our primitive brains calm down, by reminding them that we are still physically safe and not in danger of being eaten by wild animals.

Now more than ever it's vital to do all of the other things to respect our bodies and help our immune systems deal with the constant stress of the news cycle, wherever in the world we live. Exercise, eat real food, get enough sleep, don't abuse any of the the mood-altering substances including sugar, engage in a mindfulness practice, and revisit Dr Sarno and either the SEP or the Pain Recovery Program.
