What if there is real illness but I think my fears are making the symptoms much worse?

I know this is a long shot, but I am wondering if anyone on this Wiki has NTM - Nontuberculous Mycobacteria lung disease.

I believe in this work and have overcome a chronic pain condition after finding Sarno and this wiki. And I know that we need to first rule out a serious medical condition before embarking on this healing. But what if you have a medical condition but suspect that you are having exaggerated symptoms due to fear/anxiety/tms? I have NTM lung disease, a tuberculosis-like chronic infection of the lungs which is accompanied by bronchiectasis, where the small tubules in the lungs get dilated and clogged. The specialists will tell you that fatigue is a symptom of the illness.

But my fatigue is so extreme, and of late has worsened. I go for a 1.5 - 2 mile walk and I have to spend 3 hours on the bed recovering. My pulmonologist just says NTM causes fatigue, but also says not everyone gets the fatigue!

I WANT this to be TMS because then I can apply myself to the recovery process, as I did with my back pain.

Apply yourself to the process. It can’t hurt. If you have TMS, it will go away.
