I am a 30 year old male teacher. I am married to my wonderful wife and have a beautiful baby boy just coming up to 16 months. My pain began 7 years ago and has recently reached the stage where I have been offered fusion surgery on my L5-S1 disk. Due to a recent development of upper back and shoulder pain, I began looking for an answer to the strange new pain and have discovered TMS. Funnily, I read Dr Sarno's book, healing back pain, around 5 months ago when a particularly bad episode was going on, but didn't finsih it as I didn't believe it. Having tried every treatment going almost, including inversion tables, narcotic pain medication, swimming, phisio therapy, massage, osteopath and many chiropractor visits, I believe that I am ready to believe.
