My Story
I've dealt with chronic pain in my hips on and off for over 30 years. I've never been keen on doctors or their diagnoses but last year when the pain intensified I did go to a doctor and an MRI was done which revealed severe stenosis in L4 and L5, for which I underwent surgery last year. The doctors convinced me that surgery was necessary or I might wind up in a wheel chair--perhaps it was necessary, we'll never know for sure. Around Easter, some of the pain returned in a modified way and mostly less severe but I freaked out, someone recommended Sarno and now I have quite a bit of intermittent pain without fear. It manifests mostly at night, in the morning or when I've sat for a long time. It feels like chronic tension that is relieved with movement. I've tried massage, stretching, strengthening, tightening then relaxing--nothing really helps. I'm pretty sure neural pathways for this were formed in early childhood, with toilet training and have been active ever since. I also struggle with IBS. What more to do after so many therapies --35 years of mind-body therapies including Bioenergetics, Core Energetics, Grinberg Method®, SE®, EMDR, ACT, IFS, hypnosis and (probably) others? - Loading...
