Hi all, I have been a long time reader of Sarno and have worked through a number of different issues over the years, including back pain, foot pain, TMJ, and have definitely seen shifting symptoms. I have been doing well for a while and recently went on a trip to see family that was about seven hours away via car. I knew that this was going to be a stressful trip and was a little worried about symptoms developing. Sure enough, the first morning there, I woke with shoulder pain, and really shooting arm/elbow pain, and numbness in my index finger. It made it very difficult to enjoy the trip. Upon returning home, I went to my primary care doctor who sent me to an orthopedic Spine doctor three weeks later. He took x-rays and said that my neck looked very healthy (I am 50), but thought it was just some type of inflammation in the neck causing everything and possibly Cervical radiculopathy bc of a disc issue, and prescribed me prednisone to take for a week and said to come back for an MRI if it’s not better in three more weeks. I know this sounds like such classic TMS, and indeed it’s described almost precisely in the mind-body prescription as well as in Dr. Sopher’s book re “sleeping wrong”, still, the one thing which I can’t shake is the fact that the numbness in my finger is constant; in the past, all of my symptoms have been intermittent. I’m not sure if I have a question here I was just looking for anyone with any similar experience as the neck thing is a new one for me? Thanks! Bob
