    That may be true but even Dr. Sarno says those who are in real pain may need to
    continue to take medication while working on TMS healing, repressed emotions or personality problems
    that give pain. They could maybe ease off the medication, gradually, but not before asking their doctor
    because they need to avoid withdrawal symptoms.

    I'm one of those "tough it out" people. When I had back pain, and even when I have some now,
    I don't even take an Advil or an Aspirin. I just do some deep breathing and meditation and relax and
    distract myself with something pleasant.
