Hey, you wonderful TMS Wiki types.

I promised myself if I ever got better, I’d post a success story. And while life is too busy to lay it all out in the detail it deserves, I will get to that someday. But this site and this community have been hugely influential in my recovery and so I wanted to share the interview I gave to Dan Buglio just over a week ago. While it doesn’t go over every symptom and treatment and nightmarish memory in granular detail (would that really help?), it does summarize my journey, my epiphanies, and my overall beliefs about how someone gets better from a chronic mind-body condition.

Like I said, when I can I’ll write a fuller account. But until then, I hope you find something in my story to help you on your own journey:

You can do this. Look back on my old messages. I stumbled many times. I was obsessed with finding answers until I realized that the search for answers *was* the prison.

Love to you all. Never give up. There is always another chapter.

    Dan

    Dan,
Thanks for sharing your success with us. I love this quote. So glad you got better!

I just got done watching your Dan Buglio interview. It had a HUGE impact for me!! I will definitely watch it more than once. It really resonated with me. Your symptoms don’t match mine (except for the part where you “felt like your legs were blown off.”) But symptoms don’t matter— the journey does. I’m in the thick of it now (and definitely suffering from ALL the things you mentioned—the fear, the OCD, the self-loathing, the obsession with healing.) I could see myself so much in your story! (And you have a ton of quotable lines in there, btw!) I just really appreciate you coming back to the forum to share. Thank you!

love this, and it really is inspiring reading your former posts in which you are panicking, and seeing that even when you think it's not manageable you can make such a great recovery.. thanks for your commitment to letting us know about your recovery.
    I'll do the same!

I thought I recognized you from this forum. ^^ I love Dan’s channel and I have watched your success video twice now while on two of my daily mental health walks. I swear I’m not a creep, I just need to listen to things multiple times to let the info sink in I am also recovering/almost fully recovered from pelvic pain (pudendal neuralgia whatever whatever, you know what it is) and the humor you bring to your success story really helped me view my condition differently. I know one day when I’m fully out of this, I will find the humor in what I’ve been through haha. Well maybe. I might truly just pull a line from the movie Split, “that wasn’t me, that was Patricia” and move on pretending it never happened. We’ll have to wait and see. Thank you for sharing your success! And congratulations on your recovery!
