Hi all I want to know more about repressed anger trying to understand it properly I have been reading various posts in the forum, so repressing anger is bad because that repressed anger creates back pain and other pains in the body.
If I'm correct we should not repress anger but let it out like let out the rage but at the same time u can't start letting out rage at everything and at everyone cause then u will end up being known as a very rude person, I don't think that is the correct way of thinking if I read correctly u can imagine it also in your head of letting it out so I started to go back in my past I had a very bad childhood. My father was physically abusing me from age 6 to 17.

I thought of all those times he beat me up and in my mind I stated to beat him up it felt good, and strangely I had a bit of bad pain it just went away very slight pain i had but it went away and for the past week as I started reading more about TMS my pain on my lower back is not so bad I stopped taking painkillers also.

    Hi @Ismail.2025
A great way to understand more about repressed emotions (anger is the main one, but others can also be repressed, sometimes ALL of them are) is to do the Free structured Educations Program found at TMSwiki.org - it will give you strategies to help you explore your emotions.
You are probably very aware you have anger towards your father.
Repressed anger - or RAGE and many other emotions often labeled as "bad" ones means you aren't aware of this anger or rage. I like to think of this part of my mind as a 2 year old having tantrums. It's going to be angry at the people who did not protect it, angry at the people who would not listen or see and DO something to stop it... it might be mothers, other relatives, siblings, teaches. It can be anyone ...obviously you are on the right track and doing good work! Keep it up!!

Indeed, @Ismail.2025 - you are starting to experience how your thoughts and emotions can influence your physical experience, which is excellent. As @Cactusflower, the Structured Educational Program can really help you understand the concept, AND provide exercises to help you process your repressed emotions in writing. These exercises are surprisingly powerful. The SEP even suggests that you can post your progress back here on the forum, which many people do in this subforum: https://www.tmswiki.org/forum/forums/structured-educational-program.16/ Read some of the threads there to see what other people have experienced.

    Hi @Ismail.2025 , welcome!

I'm sorry for what you went through with your dad.

Anger, when safely released, is a very therapeutic emotion. Don't fear it. It's on your side.
