Ive healed a few times from back pain using sarnos work and have worked through a few relapses. Just when i think im getting better at it, these relapses seem to stick. What im having trouble with is living life regardless of the pain. I mean how are you supposed to not think about what ur body is doing when its actively hurting? How am i supposed to wake up and not assess my pain levels, if i am experiencing sharp pains when im getting out of bed its kind of hard to ignore. How am i supposed to be active without the pain dictating how hard i can go? These things seem impossible.

    “These things seem impossible.”

You do it by changing your mindset from thinking that it is impossible to knowing Sarno gave us proof it can be done if we follow all his guidelines which includes and is foremost to think psychologically.
Getting back to regular life comes after thinking psychologically in his program, “work on baby steps towards it as you do the psychological work”.
Consider how you repress your rage and other difficult feelings by deep self examination, note how your personality traits Sarno outlines, plays into all sides: psychological and getting back to life…
The free Structured Educational Program at TMSWiki.org (scroll down to find it) takes you through the work.
Claire Weekes books help greatly with the anxiety and mindset -what to do with your thoughts.
