Tennis elbow from golfing

This summer I got over my 6 years of back pain after being introduced to tms! It changed my life. But I got healthy and was golfing a lot, and developed what I thought was tennis elbow. And it’s been bothering me for 3 months now. I’m having a hard time accepting fully at tms even though I’m sure it is. Has anyone else had this issue? Potentially even stemming from golfing? It’s really sucked tho, pain getting better but having a hard time getting over the edge.

I initially attributed it To overuse.

TMS is not “caused by golfing” - it’s anxiety, fear, emotional repression.. psychological.
The catalyst is often something that will get your attention, could be something you love or value..
What was your stress level leading up to this time, and what were your thoughts toward yourself - how do you tend to think about yourself or treat yourself.

Only on this forum would that sentence make sense.
Of course it is TMS. I don't know what 'overuse' is... It's like something the medical community made up to blame stuff on.
My arm was killing me. I was told I had 'overused' my shoulder throwing baseballs...I 'let it rest' and it got WORSE! I went and threw a long batting practice focusing on my repressed anger and it got better....a much longer BP than I even normally would throw.

I have been chasing away symptoms in my hands. They never hurt when I am using a jackhammer, lifting weights or playing guitar.....really any kind of intense activity. But as soon as I get home and want to relax? Ouch.

The symptom started the EXACT DAY that my Doctor (GP) told me I might have a condition from 'using them too much'. I am mad at myself I even told him...I was there for something totally different and just mentioned it to him.
But doing the recovery plan and exercises here on the Wiki has whittled it down to close to nil....though when I read todays exercise which told me "Take the day off"...I Immediately felt them cramp (LOL)

problems not in the place where the symptom is located ..it's in our lives and spiritual/emotional/mental demeanor combined with the realities of life. Goes away with raised awareness....always higher. As Much as we can stand.

    peace

Thanks for both your thoughts! I’ve never posted in here so I appreciate it.

is there any chance in this circumstance an initial “strain,” or something could have happened? And then the rest since has been tms? Cuz initially it was in the…muscle up near the elbow. But that’s been gone two months and it’s more in the bony part of elbow, but mainly the outer wrist.

Sarno is the founding father of our work so to speak. He was quite clear once when he said
    "I don't know what a strain is?"
TMS goes after what you will believe. If you're a runner, your feet..if you play tennis, elbow, forearm.
I had that exact symptom before. I knew it was TMS and ignored it.

All of us keep wanting to check and re-check "Well...couldn't mine be different because_______"

Re-read the book ("Healing back Pain") . He specifically debunks 'Tennis elbow', though it can choose any place in the body.

One answer to this is "maybe".

    Another answer is "maybe not".

But the only useful answer to this question is to tell you to stop asking it. It's a distraction and the answer DOES NOT MATTER.

This question was created by your TMS brain to distract you from looking at your repressed emotional conflicts and to turn your focus towards shallow irrelevancies. Don't be fooled!

The fact that you got over the back pain by understanding that it was TMS is terrific. That means that you have the knowledge & the techniques to get better.

Do you have tennis elbow? Well if you have been playing a lot of golf, it's possible.
Do people hurt themselves playing sports? Heck yes they do.
Can they overuse a certain part of their body? Why not? It's a human thing. It's a body thing. It's a physical thing.
Don't let anybody take that away from you.
It's possible that yes maybe you did pull a muscle, sprain something, break a bone..... whatever.

BUT like Sarno says we should all heal. Take your meds, apply some anti inflammatory cream, heck even use a brace if needed & find some other sport for a while if it bothers you too much.
Do all that because these are SIMs (safeties in me). You need to find ways of feeling safe & convey these messages to your mind. Tone or tune down that nervous system any way you can.

Reduce your DIMs (dangers in me). For example if you are putting a lot of pressure on yourself to heal or if you doubt too much or fear too much then you are sending danger messages.Your thoughts & your messages can be DIMS or SIMS so be careful what you think.

Reinforce thoughts of safety or do things that promote a sense of well being. Reduce or eliminate anxiety, stress or thoughts that cause fear.

    All the best
