What we resist persists. We've all heard that one. The way I've been trying to work it is this: If I have a negative emotion, let's say guilt because I meditated on guilt this morning, instead of hating it or trying to push it away or resist it... I pictured it as a black cloud over me, then I gave it love, actually tried to hug it, then it gradually turned grey and then white! I felt lighter after this meditation. We need to love our negative emotions. They are teaching us big lessons. The only way to dissolve them is to love them. When we resist or hate them, they have a way of coming back at us even harder. They come back as pain in the body.
