Practitioner Dave Clarke
Dr. David Clarke received his undergraduate degree from Williams college and went to medical school at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine where he was the recipient of the Mosby Award for clinical excellence. After medical school Dr. Clarke worked at Harbor/UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles where he completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine followed by a fellowship in Gastroenterology. He has been a visiting professor at the Royal Children's Hospital in Brisbane, Australia and at Oxford University in England. Currently Dr. Clarke is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Gastroenterology Emeritus and a Senior Scholar in the Center for Ethics both at Oregon Health & Science University. He also lectures on clinical medicine at Pacific University.

Dr. Clarke is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He has received recognition for excellence throughout his career. While he practiced Gastroenterology from 1984 to 2009 in Portland Oregon he was twice named one of the "Top Doctors" in his specialty. Dr Clarke lectures frequently on stress illness in North America and Europe and has done over 100 interviews on television and radio since 2007. He gave a presentation entitled "Interviewing to Elicit TMS Triggers" at the first TMS conference. Dr. Clarke presented a lecture called Connecting Stress to Physical Symptoms, at the 2nd Annual TMS Conference in Los Angeles. He is the International Clinical Adviser to the UK based Stress Illness Recovery Practitioner's Association (SIRPA) created by Georgie Oldfield. SIRPA is dedicated to training and certifying practitioners in the UK on the treatment of TMS/PPD symptoms. Dr. Clarke also wrote the book They Can't Find Anything Wrong, and is on the board of directors for the Psychophysiologic Disorders Association (PPDA). (Source 1, Source 2)
